Cali now sold
Sadly as of today we are now longer Cali owners. We have loved it over the past 5 years but need a slightly larger camper with a permanent bed and onboard toilet. We are awaiting our Westfalia Columbus.

The good news it has gone to a couple with a young child that are going to love it and have many great adventures.

Farewell Scotty you have served us well.

Happy travels with the Columbus!

ps: there four of us and the 540D with poptop would be my favorite but they all look very nice ;)

There is only 2 of us so we are going without the pop-top on our 540D. It also means we are below 3050 kgs so not subject to the 60mph limit

Wishing you happy travels and new adventures in your new larger camper. We did the same last year when we said a sad farewell to our Cali. We bought a Hymer Free S 600 for the same reasons as you have stated and have enjoyed the extra space and living comfort that a bigger van offers. We are currently on week 5 of our 7 week tour of Europe. We are currently at a lovely site on Lake Como having tackled the Stelvio Pass yesterday in our camper!! We don’t regret trading up but miss the Cali for the ease of use and parking etc … Best wishes

I really miss the Cali.
But on each camping trip we do, we begin to forget and learn to love the bigger van, more and more.
Hot water, a fixed bed and the toilet being our favourite upgrades.
Enjoy the new van :thumb

Nothing wrong with the PopTop Cali but I find the larger Calis much less of a compromise, even with the +2M limitation. The Toilet, hot water and ability to stand and make Tea/Food without disturbing everyone sleeping..and having a proper sink to wash you face just make them them better.

I did love my pop-top, but would I go back to a Cali with SWB and a Pop Top...no chance.

Good luck with your Westy.. So many great vans at that size.
