For some reason I can’t use the Lock Unlock feature on the We Connect App, just shows if its locked or unlocked. I have spoken to the WC service centre and they are either unwilling or do not know why I do not have this function only that its not fitted to Vehicle, I asked why they reply I don't know, and asked if it can be retro fitted, no is the answer. I just want to know why, were they short on parts at the time? Dame frustrating.

Any one have any ideas.

Which manufacturing year is your van? I think from other posts on this forum this feature might be missing from a specific year (?MY21)

Hi Phil yes March MY 21 feel like I’ve been short changed with no explanation.

That’s correct on T6.1 only MY21 doesn’t have it. Don’t feel too left out, nothing pre T6.1 had it either.

May be so but when turning we always carry two sets of keys, what I would like is to conceal the other set in case we split up or a set lost meaning we can still open the van and retrieve the concealed spare set.

Works on my GC but occasionally shows a door unlocked/rear door/bonnet open, which it never is. Not 100% reliable which is a shame as it could be useful.
 
I can lock/unlock my 6.1 2022 Coast using WeConnect but I had to be verified by VW first. This involved picture ID and a video call with VW representative.

You’re not missing much, it’s unreliable and can’t be trusted.

Recently it told me the doors and boot were open, I tried locking it, it kept saying it was unlocked, I turned around from a hike and walked back in a bit of a panic to find everything was as I left it, locked etc.

I never use it now.
 
To lock and unlock remotly you have to have 'We Connect Plus'. It comes for a time with new vans, but ours expired ages ago. Now we're on We Connect, which has van status.

To get the lock functionality the upgrade costs around 150!

I called the helpline and tried to blag a trial (to no avail!). The guy kept telling me all the things Plus does... Traffic info and other things Google does mostly. Hhmmff.

Anyone else know how to use an app to unlock and lock the van that's better value?
 
Just sorted out We Connect recently for our new van - seem to get the Plus option for free for three years. Which maybe indicates how hard they’re finding it to get folk to fork out for it?

Don’t know if this is helpful but I’ve had an ocean since Jan 22 so assume it’s a n MY 21? Last week I activated the lock/ unlock feature on the app by registering with vwconnect. I followed instructions on the app and got through to live chat. This was a face time type call and I had to show and photograph my driving licence.
I don’t know what years or models are covered by this feature but it worked when I tried it.
 
Hi all I when through the registration process only to be told like others that my vehicle will not support the app open & close function. So guessing the parts were not available at the time of manufacture March 21. Also they insisted it couldn’t be retrofitted.
 
We do have We Connect Plus and for 4 years as it was offered at the time of purchase free

I have had my van two years and in all that time I have never managed to get through to VW on the video call. Any tips?
 
I got through first time, with a short 15 second or so wait. I connected using We Connect under “vehicle settings”.

Completely agree about reliability. Just back from checking I hadn’t left my van unlocked (as suggested by the app)

indeed not very reliable. in my experience closing the windows by keeping locking button on key pressed we-connect thinks windows still open. I opened the car and closed windows even little more by using buttons on driver side door and we connect now recognized windows closed.
Also boot not always detected as closed and front doors must be closed with force.
