I’ve got a 2 seat Beach on order and was wondering how people organise the bench storage. Do the likes of Ikea Skubb boxes fit in there? What do people put in them?

We use skubb boxes - they work well

Same here, they work well. We also bought a rubber backed carpet mat from IKEA at the same time to line the drawer and reduce noise.

Three 64 litre Really Useful boxes fit very nicely. I have taken the blue handles off and use without lids.

hmm.. are we talking about the under bench drawer or behind the seat?

You mean under the shelf at the back not the drawer. No way 3x64L boxes will fit in there.

Sorry, yes I meant behind the seat. Got my wires crossed LoL.
In the bench drawer I keep a large washing up bowl with the window blinds and a few larger items in it on one side and a smaller plastic storage box on the other.

Yes, I mean in the boot. Sorry for the confusion!

Thanks for the replies and it saves me asking what you use for the back of the van. Sorry I can’t remember the terminology yet but I’ll get there.

Sounds like a trip to ikea is in order after pickup.

While I’m at it what can fit in the cupboard at the side? Presumably it’s best to line it with rubber to reduce rattles?

No worries! Yep, really useful boxes in the boot - 1 x 64 and 2 x 24 I think from memory. we also have a rubber mat on the floor and turned up at the sides a little so that when we slide the boxes in & out we don't scratch the van. Judging by the state of the mat, this was well worthwhile!

I actually just slide the boxes in the boot. Not noticed any scratches but I’m going to look closely now! They never leave the boot so don’t pick up any dirt underneath.

We found the van becomes more enjoyable when you’ve had it for so long that you are less precious with it being a very expensive toy and it has become more of a utility vehicle.

We don’t really care much about minor scratches and they are hard to avoid after a while.

We use various sizes of really useful, down to 4 x 9 litres. We don’t use the 64 litres ourselves as they are too big for us and we thought they would become too heavy and unwieldy. The biggest we have is the 42 litres, we also have some 33 litres, which sit nicely on a camping table we keep in the boot.

We use one of these mats underneath the boxes, which doubles up as a door mat for the sliding door.
