I’m about to purchase a couple of seat storage pockets like the ones attached. Bandrup and Inka seem to make similar ones with the Inka ones being a fair bit cheaper.

This is probably a silly question but I was wondering if the front seats rotate ok with the pockets in place (I assume that they must do).

I’ve noticed that on the forum that people have issues on the back of the left seat if they have a van with a kitchen but I’ve got a 2023 T6.1 Cali Beach camper without that.

The biggest criticism I've read is that when the seats are rotated accessing the pockets can be tricky. Shouldn't impact rotation at all but if fully loaded the seat may not be able to be pushed back as far.

Yes. I thought about that…. I suppose it’s always worse on the drivers side with the steering wheel in the way. I guess you get into the rhythm of storing the right things in the right place for the right moment eventually ! Until then there is a lot of huffing and puffing

Thats usually how it works in the Cali. Adaptation and optimization.

Seats will rotate fine in a Beach. We have some Inka ones which are very good quality.

(...Access is as normal in a Cali. In the real world you generally need to move something to get to something when the van is loaded, especially with sports kit and sideways rain outside .
In 'VW brochure world' you just carry a couple of cups, coffee pot & smiling child with guitar... and its always sunny.)

I've occasionally pondered these while trying to resolve the storage issues in the Cali, but to be honest wondered what people find to store in such small spaces. I can see things like torch/charger/cables/small power packs/tissues might be usefully accommodated in one or two small pockets but I can't think how I'd use all of the oddly shaped pockets. Lack of accessibility if the seats are turned around at night (when I might most need some of this stuff is also an issue) Given this, I'm a little put off by the cost of these things.

OLPRO do a similar version, which isn't quite as pretty but is much more affordable and perhaps has more useful pocket sizes (?) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CP68LN5X/?tag=eliteelect-21

Does anyone have any real world experience of these & how do they compare to the solid gold Brandrup ones?

Got to say I agree with this point totally. I can't see the usefulness of these at all. We have managed to get all you need for a 10 day trip away in the space that exists without the need to store tissues in a back of seat pocket.

As for the OP question. They would spin but of course you have all this tat in the pockets that you have to fold forward, back, not be able to access, and with your horn likely going off every time you sit down.

We only have the pockets on the drivers seat ( in our Ocean ) and as we only ever turn the passenger seat it isn’t an issue. Though good to know that it can be done on drivers side, with a little judicious care of steering wheel.
As regards what we store, lots of things :
Small radio and two kindles in the bottom ( larger ) pouch.
Power banks, chargers and cables in smaller ones. Also wallets, torches and any wee bits n pieces.
Expensive, but we’ve found it useful.

We use them for dust pan & brush, surfboard fins, bike pump, bike tool kit, cable ties, bluetooth speaker, surfboard wax etc.

Our seat is not turned all the time, so access is fairly easy. Our horn only goes off when ignition is live.

I can certainly see the need for extra storage - I've just fitted wardrobe shelves to help resolve this. It's more the funny sized pouches on the seat backs that I've wondered about. And for $200 I'd rather they reflected the shape of the seats rather than looking like glued on handbags, but hey ho.

We have had the Inka kit installed to both Ocean seats since 2018. Only issue with one is that the headrest holes pulled out, so now only use the pockets on the drivers seat now. No issues revolving the seats.

I also installed the mesh netting pockets to the bottom of both seats. Useful for adapter cables, shopping bags, wipes, torch etc. It did take a bit of hunting to find a good sized pocket though.

OP has a Beach. Hence no wardrobes

We bought one for the drivers seat as we never turn this. Really good quality and great price. Handy for torch, cables, kindle, iPad, dog treats, poo bags….. We find it useful. The link is: https://van-x.co.uk/products/vw-t6-...captains-seat-leatherette-back-seat-organiser

We've had the Brandrup ones in bth our T4 and in our T5. We wouldn't want to be without them The seat turns just fine, but we are in a LHD. So the passenger seat has storage pockets but the drivers seat (in front of the kitchen) does not. We store mostly stuff for the kids, so that things are tidied up and they can reach it without having to go into the van with their shoes. Drawing paper and pencils, small board games, their sunglasses. Also usefull as a place to temporarily store whatever smnall items you run into when you're in a hurry to tidy the van and drive away.
