Hi there, my roof seems to have an issue. It periodically doesn't shut properly - see picture. Anyone else experienced this and if so what was the solution?

Thanks

Do you stop the closing process to check canvas is folding correctly?

Assume nothing stored up top.

Which vehicle do you have? According to your Avatar you are ” Just Browsing “.

Are you holding the button down until the electro-hydraulic pump stops automatically?

Does this happen every time?

Does the Control Panel show any roof error messages?

Make sure the material of the canvas roof is properly folded on the passenger side.

A T6 3.5 yrs old.

Yup button held down.
Happens periodically.
No error messages.
canvas is OK.

Can you video it going up and coming down?

Do you then put up and down and then that fixes it? What do you do?

Just on that side?

I also would first guess that something is in the way. I would inspect the scissors mechanism and see if all the rubbers are in the right/same places on both sides.

Personally I stop when it’s half way down and fold up the canvas in a very tidy way. Then finish it off. I don’t like the idea of a band.

That looked like mine once and Id left a small torch on the side when sleeping...I know it sounds daft but until I checked I didn't realise and the first time i checked I didn't notice the small torch?

I think it’ll be something physical, as the pump tends to run on for 2 seconds past the stop position. Plus if it works most of the time, I don’t see the hydraulics or the scissor linkage being the issue. Same happened on our first (brand new ) hired 6.1, but only once in the week we had it. It’s also happened once in our own van. Our solution both times was to lift the roof and to pull in the front corners of the canvas as they fold towards the hatch when still about 30cm raised. We do this now each time we lower. Also, I’d recommend NOT having the bungee cord. This canvas folds in nicely without and this may also cause some gathering on the canvas at the front corners.

This happens to mine after the roof has sagged on that side. Putting it fully up then down again rectifies it for me.

Now i just try and remember to fully raise it after it being up before bringing it back down again.
