Hello! Can anyone advise me with another fridge problem! I’ve looked through the forum but can’t find anyone with quite the same problem as mine. I have a 2017 California Ocean and since I left her standing for 4 weeks this summer the fridge wont turn off unless I remove the fuse. I have removed both the control panel and fridge fuse and replaced only the fridge fuse and the fridge starts up. the Problem started after leaving her stood for 4 weeks whilst I went on holiday. When I can back I noticed the back of the kitchen cupboards below the window Was wet. We had a lot of rain and the window had leaked. So I suspect the electrics/wiring got wet and this has caused the problem. Is there anything I can try before I take it to a garage? Thanks

Check for any Diagnostic Codes.

Check Control Panel Diagnostics.

Control Panel Off and wait 30 secs

Control Panel On

Press and Hold R lower button and then press Control Knob for 5 secs.

New Hidden Menu . Scroll to VW Diagnostics.

If there are any codes shown, take note and then Reset/Clear.

Return to Main Menu.

Switch Off Control Panel using L lower button. Wait 30 secs and Switch On.

Try Roof/Heater or Fridge

Thanks for your reply, sorry to sound stupid but how do I erase the error codes? It says press escape for 5 secs. Which is escape? I’ve tried this
a few times previously and failed … and gave up!

Roof opens, heater works, the fridge light is flashing. Fridge on and fridge off doesn’t register when I select either of them from the menu but I can select the fridge temperature.

Escape is Bottom R.

Ok I have tried this and error 3101 is still there when I go back in to diagnostics. So it’s not clearing it.

Ok. Thanks so much for your help WelshGas. I‘ll hand it over to mechanics. At least I’ve tried !

It sounds like 3101 error code from WG's list was induced by you removing the fuse as opposed to the initial problem of fridge not turning off.
But I'm clueless other than that observation.

The fridge wiring runs through a block connecter which is under the inspection cover in the bottom of the right hand kitchen cupboard. Mine got wet and corroded these wires. Repaired them, now ok. Hope this helps.

Thanks Alan. That sounds like a definite possibility. I’ll have a look myself but I also have a great mechanic who could check this out for me. I have a feeling it is more likely to be a problem in this area rather than the control panel.

Thanks for your help/interest. I’ll post here anything I find out when I get to the bottom of this !

this is where you had the problem ? I can’t see anything obvious but will pass it on.

Ok so I went to the garage. I put Fuse back in place and turned on the control panel. The fridge is now working. I have checked and the error 3101 is no longer displayed. I’m relieved and a bit embarrassed!! I can only think that I became so distracted with trying to clear the error message that I didn’t think to test it. Maybe putting fuse back in and turning on the fridge cleared the error as pressing the bottom right button didn’t clear the error. Anyway, there’s a lesson for me there, I just hope I learn from it. Thankyou all for your interest and advice.

Maybe that connector was wet, causing a short circuit and hence error but has now dried out?
