Fridge Freezer make in t6 and t6.1

are the fridges in the T6 and T6.1 the same make an model ???
I beilieve in T6.1 it is a dometic compressor fridge ??
What adjusts the temperature is there a sensor / thermister in the freezer itself ?? that adjusts temperature inside the fridge ?? then sends signal via a wire to the control panel ? anyone no how they work ??
Also is the inside of fridge temperatue affected by outdoor temperature much , or does inside fridge stay same temperature summer an winter is set on same level ?? Eg number 2 ??

I ended up putting a bluetooth logger in the centre of the fridge in the bottom of the basket.
Its a T6 2019, to keep the temperature around 3-5c the fridge need to be on setting 5, but in certain conditions it can be around 1c and up to 6c. On setting 4 it raised to nearer 8.5c, so not ideal.
That said the cooling is from the rear panel so things can freeze back there.
I try to keep the fridge side of the van out of the sun where possible but the hotter that side of the van gets, the more the fridge runs, regulation is still good.

What is a Bluetooth logger ?? We're do get those from and price ?

Anyone no the normal cyle period of the compressor ??? been told this should be around 20 mins ??
normal 20 mins on , then 20 mins off ??

In answer to your question there is the Temp sensor in the fridge that regulates the temp in the fridge, I was very surprised that the Cali has a proper compressor fridge that works very well.
In Hot weather the compressor will work longer as it keeps the temp stable and you may need to adjust the setting depending on how hot it is and how much you have in it

Yes. 20 mins on, then 20 mins off.

The temp sensor is a thermostat which will send a signal to the compressor. The cycle will depend on how fast the temperature rises at the sensor. So if the lid is open on a warm day it will cycle back on much faster.

Trojax clearly said : sensor in the fridge. I have never seen a fridge with sensor outside.
My paperwork says my t6.1 ocean has Waeco 42liter fridge.

That strange my T6.1 is a dometic it is on the access round panel inside the sink there is large sticker there saying dometic , volkswagen must use 2 types not sure if one any better than other or both the same

Hi the picture as posted in the temp sensor inside the fridge, The only other sensor i can think of would be one out in the living space is for the Heater

AB Electrolux company started trading in 1918 and is Swedish based.

Electrolux acquired Dometic a USA company in the late 60s early 70s. In 2001 Dometic separated from Electrolux and became a standalone company.

Dometic was acquired by private equity firm EQT in 2011 which took the company public in 2015 and is listed on the Swedish stock exchange.

Seems strange to me that Dometic and Electrolux are both headquartered and quoted on Sweden stock exchange.

I think I am correct in that Electrolux is the 2nd largest manufacturer of domestic and industrial appliances worldwide behind Whirlpool.

I take interest in Electrolux as I worked for them over 30yrs.

Ps dometic also own cadac, Waeco, Thule?

Im using a Govee temp device to monitor my fridge temp via my phone after the fridge turned off on me twice (no battery or power issue that I could identify). Now over the past few days I can see that the fridge operates over a 12 hour cycle using setting 5 to pontil the temp and cooling and allowing the temp to rise within limits on a variable basis . It is keeping the temp typically with a min of 1.0°C to 3.4°C over each 12 hour cycle, averaging anywhere between 1.9°C -2.7°C where the outside temp has been on average 20°C. Im very conscious that for food to be safe it needs to kept below 5°C, so I don't expect to change the fridge setting below 5 anytime soon. I would be interested to know how effective will the fridge operate where the outside temp is much warmer, hopefully I will get the opportunity to check this when/if summer arrives.

This is why VW describe the “fridge” ( what Us normal folk call it) as a cool box.
It’s not meant to be run 24/7
Its temperature is controlled by the control panel, which in turn is powered by the starter motor battery. Yes the actual compressor is powered by the Lesuire under passenger seat, (and yes I know 2 batts are just seen as just one big battery)
(As long as your cube fuse on wardrobe battery is not blown)
Thus, if you leave it on for two weeks.
It (fridge / cool box / whatever you wish to call it) will shut down when the starter BATT is below 12v…… good luck !
